Monoculture or Provincial Computers

Digital Hegemony will be sold as a chip called the HCPU (Hegemony Central Processing Unit). Before the HCPU, a monoculture has flourished for Intel CPUs running Microsoft operating systems. Like a farm with a monoculture of one crop, the standard PC is vulnerable to viruses. In the future HCPU computer systems, a wide variety of instruction sets will make local devices immune to the common viruses. This provincial style of the HCPU has some drawbacks and some advantages over the old monoculture.
